Creating a message
Type your message in the box at the bottom of the chat tray.
Coming soon you will be able to upload files into your message as well.
When you are ready select your chosen method of delivery by choosing either "Send Email" or "Send SMS" from the red option box.
For you to be able to send the chat you will need to have an investors phone number or email address included as part of their contact information (See our article "Creating a Contact "). If you see either "Send Email", "Send SMS" options greyed out this means you do not have the relevant contact information (phone or email for that contact).
Before sending an SMS also make sure that you are sending to a mobile number and not a landline. SMS messages can only be delivered to mobile numbers.
As soon as you click send your message will be sent
What the investor sees
Email
When an investor receives an email from you it will include your message as well as your email signature.
You can configure the name, job title and phone number that appears in the email signature from Edit Profile. See our article "Update your personal profile "
Very occasionally email messages from Ailo can appear in a user's spam folder so ask them to check here if they are not receiving your communications. Once they mark your message as not spam all future communications will go straight to their inbox.
SMS
When receiving an SMS the investor will see the SMS number that has been assigned to your business - not your individual phone number. See our article "SMS numbers in Ailo " . This is because SMS messages are being sent via the Ailo system rather than your own phone.
Investor replies
When the investor replies directly to an SMS or email sent via Ailo these replies will automatically appear in the chat with the date and time the message was received.
You will also receive a notification on your mobile device and in application notifications in Ailo showing you have unread messages. You will only receive notifications on your mobile device for chats you have initiated or are an active participant of. See our article "Notifications"
Viewing chats
Chats are viewable my anyone in your business.
You can access all chats from the chat icon in the grey navigation bar. By default you will see "My Chats". These are chats you have initiated or are an active participant of.
See our article "Finding Chats"
